Coat of arms of Montenegro

The coat of arms of Montenegro, which is also part of the national flag, was adopted by Parliament in 1993.

Description

The coat of arms depicts the golden red gezungten gold-crowned double-headed eagle the Montenegrin dynasty Petrović, bearing the royal insignia.

In its right claw a golden scepter and left the gold- ripened blue orb.

Instead of the royal initials N.I. (Cyrillic HI) of King Nikola I will, however, a golden border lion used on the divided chest plate in blue on a green field.

The coat of arms is also found on the flag of Montenegro.
