Coat of arms of Montserrat
The coat of arms of Montserrat is blue and has a red sign foot elevated. The cross-field coat of arms figure shows Erin, as a personification of Ireland, which should reflect the Irish origins of much of the European-born population of the island nation of Montserrat. This is symbolized in terms of three attributes. Erin is wearing a robe in the Irish national color green. With her right hand she supports a black cross, which stands for the Catholic background of the Irish -descended residents. In front of her stands a golden harp, as they can still be found today on the coat of arms of the Republic of Ireland.
The coat of arms is also found on the flag of Montserrat.
