Coat of arms of Sint Maarten

The coat of arms of Sint Maarten, a part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, shows on blue background (with red trim ) the gebordete blazon and the earlier " silver " Palace of Justice from Philipsburg. In the left upper canton a yellow bouquet of Lantana camara ( Dutch: Wisselbloem ), the national plant. Top right is the monument of French-Dutch friendship.

Above the shield a ( brown ) flying pelican front of a yellow rayless setting sun.

Under the sign in the yellow ribbon with green ( on the flag presentation: black ) majuscules the motto: SEMPER PROGREDIENS. ( Dutch: " Op Altijd away " Logically,: . " Always on the move " )

The coat of arms is included in the flag of Sint Maarten for the island part of the white triangular field near the hoist side.
