Coat of arms of Sweden

The coat of arms of Sweden is the national coat of arms of the Kingdom of Sweden.

Under the current Act of 1982, Sweden has two national coat of arms, the small and the large, which are shown pictorially. In most cases, the small state coat of arms is used.

Great State Coat of Arms

The large national emblem is the coat of arms of the monarch, and is used on ceremonial occasions by the Riksdag and the government.

Description: A geviertes by a narrow golden Tatzenkreuz coat of arms shows in blue three golden crowns (2:1) provided in the first and fourth field and blue second and third field a gold-crowned golden lion on white oblique waves. Over the crossing is a split heart shield. Front diagonally divided twice for the dynasty of Vasa of blue, silver and red, on the golden Wasagarbe. Rear of, founded by Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte dynasty in blue seven golden stars of the constellation of the Big Dipper over a golden Napoleonic eagle. Below that, a silver bridge with three arches and two towers for the Principality of Pontecorvo. The heraldic shield is held by two gold -winning golden rotgezungten and rotbewehrten double-tailed lion. About the shield a golden crown with blue orb. Everything is held together by the ermine decorated crests coat with the golden crown and golden orb. The Seraphinenorden hangs around the shield.

Small National Coat of Arms

The small state coat of arms or national coat of arms, the main elements of the Great Seal is back. The color blue as a sign of the royal family, and the three crowns, also as a sign of the monarchy.

Description: Blue with three gold crowns (2:1) provided. On the coat of arms rests the golden crown with a blue orb.

The coat of arms is also called Tre Kronor, three crowns crest.
