Cocabamba District

Coca Bamba is a district in Peru in the province of Luya in the region of the Amazon. The capital is the village of Coca Bamba.

Coca Bamba is located in a very hot area to a point where the valleys fall from the heights of Santo Tomás tions Marañón. In Coca Bamba and the surrounding area there are beautiful waterfalls and incredible ruins of the people of the Chachapoyas. To get to Coca Bamba, take a taxi or a bus to Chachapoyas and travels to Santo Tomás, where the road ends. From there it goes on foot or on the back of a mule on.

The village festival in Coca Bamba is celebrated on 8 October. The district Coca Bamba belongs to the parish of Santo Tomás.

The majority of the population of the district Coca Bamba lives from growing coca for their own use.

In the north of the district Coca Bamba borders the district Pisuquía, in the east with the district María ( Luya ), district of Santo Tomás ( Luya ) and the District District Leymebamba ( Chachapoyas ), in the south -east with the district Balsas, in the south- west with Celendin the district, to the west with the district Chumuch.
