Cock Robin (band)

Cock Robin is an American band originally 1980s. They are assigned to the genre of new wave.

Band History

Frontman, vocalist, bassist and keyboardist Peter Kingsbery founded the band in 1982 in Los Angeles. Although they were largely unsuccessful in their homeland, they celebrated with the singer Anna LaCazio in Europe with the singles When your heart is weak (1985 ), the duet The Promise You Made (1986 ) from the album Cock Robin and the outcoupling Just around the corner from the album After here through midland (1987 ) with great success. Most fans had the band here in Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

The descent of Cock Robin began with the departure of guitarist Clive Wright and drummer Lou Molino before the appearance of the second album after here through midland.

Although Kingsbery continued the band with Anna LaCazio and with a new drummer ( Denny Fongheiser ) and guitarist Tim Pierce, was the third album First Love / Last Rites (1989 ) - again with a new band line-up - not a commercial success. After a final tour of Germany Kingsbery dissolved the band in mid-1990. That same year, CBS brought under the " Gold Collection", a best -of album out.

Kingsbery and LaCazio tried their hand at solo careers. The solo album of Anna LaCazio was never put on the market; Peter Kingsbery published moderately successful solo albums mainly for the French market and cooperated amongst other things with Cyndi Lauper.

In July 2006, the band was reactivated again. Peter and Anna Kingsbery LaCazio reported back with the album " I Do not Want to Save the World", but this was hardly marketed at least in Germany and focus, presented in France, where Kingsbery and Cock Robin always gained a higher popularity. In addition to several appearances on television shows and radio stations a final tour could not be implemented because LaCazio Anna was pregnant.

With the release of their live album, titled Live LaCazio Anna and Peter Kingsbery her "comeback" in 2009 have continued with concerts in France and the Netherlands. Again, the album was barely promoted in Germany ( here previously available only as a download), in France, the publication of various television appearances was flanked. The initial response was so positive that for the summer of 2009, the publication of Anna LaCazios long verschollenem solo album Eat life and for 2010 were planned a new Cock Robin album. Along with the new album were in 2011 then again seven concerts in Germany.
