Cockrell Hill is a city in Dallas County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city is located in the west of the county, in the central north east Texas, about 100 miles from Oklahoma to the north away and has a total area of 1.5 km ² without significant water surface.

History

Was named the city after Brentwood Allen Cockrell and his son or after Wesley Cockrell and his cousin Alexander Cockrell, all pioneers of this area. The name at that time Cockrell Place as a holding station was known among the travelers and the coach route ran from Dallas to Fort Belknap and El Paso.
