Cocoanut Grove fire

The Cocoanut Grove fire in occurred on 28 November 1942 in a nightclub in Boston. In this second- heaviest fire in the United States, after the fire in the Iroquois Theater ( 1903), 492 people died and hundreds were injured.

The lack of implementation of safety rules led to this high number of victims. After the disaster, there was a nationwide change in the safety standards and the treatment of burn victims.
