Codabar

The coding Codabar is a limited alphanumeric character set available. The letters a to d can only be used as start and stop characters. In addition to these letters or special characters $ -. / Possible. Codabar was developed for the retail trade, but quickly replaced by the EAN. Only libraries and laboratories in healthcare use this barcode. The error rate is high because it is not possible to use check digits. Characters consist of 7 members with 3 holes and 4 lines. Another gap is used to separate the characters. It is recommended instead to use the EAN Codabar or Code 128.
