CodeGear

CodeGear was a software company in the USA. It was originally a subsidiary of Borland, who took over Borland's development tools division. This was sold on May 7, 2008 at Embarcadero Technologies.

History

On 8 February 2006 Borland announced that it seeking a buyer for IDE division. Since several months was no buyer who was willing to pay an adequate sum, the IDE division, which has been called DevCo or Developer Tools Group ( DTG), spun off as a 100 % subsidiary under the name CodeGear was. Meanwhile, continued negotiations until CodeGear was finally sold on 7 May 2008 at Embarcadero. Since 1 July 2008, CodeGear product is a trademark of Embarcadero. As part of the name " DatabaseGear " was created for the previous Embarcadero products.

  • Delphi - an object-oriented RAD development environment
  • CodeGear Prism -. A built on top of Visual Studio Shell development environment for NET applications use the compiler from the company RemObjects
  • C Builder - a RAD development environment for C ABI compatibility with Delphi
  • JBuilder - a Java development environment
  • Delphi for PHP - a development environment for PHP
  • Interbase - a relational database management system
  • Blackfish SQL - a relational database management system
  • 3rdRail - an Eclipse-based development environment for Ruby on Rails
