Cody Hodgson

Cody Hodgson (born 18 February 1990 in Toronto, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since February 2012 with the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Cody Hodgson began his career as a hockey player in the Ontario Junior Hockey League, where he was active for the Markham Waxers 2004-2006. Subsequently elected him the Brampton Battalion, for whom he played in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League from 2006 to 2010 in the OHL Priority Selection from. After being selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2008 in the first round as a whole tenth player from the Vancouver Canucks, he was in the playoffs of the 2008/09 season his debut at senior level for Vancouver's farm team, the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League. For this, he scored two goals in eleven games and prepared another four before. For the following season the Canadians first returned to Brampton in the OHL because he incurred a serious back injury in the summer, which put in until the end of the year out of action. For the 2010/11 season he was definitely included in the AHL squad of Manitoba Moose.

Shortly before the Trade Deadline 27 February 2012 Hodgson was replaced together with the German defenders Alexander Sulzer against Zack Kassian striker and defender Marc -Andre Gragnani to the Buffalo Sabres.

Internationally

For Canada, Hodgson took part in the U18 World Youth Championship in 2008 and the U20 Junior World Championship 2009. Both times he won this gold medal, was leading scorer and top assist provider in the tournament. In 2009 he was also elected to the All- Star team.
