Similar Species

In many older textbooks two other Slim Dragonfly species appear also under the German name " damselfly " on, but other genera belong: the cup Damselfly and Azure Damselfly Cup. To avoid this misunderstanding, the first type Enallagma cyathigerum is now usually referred to as the Common Blue Damselfly. The second type Erythromma lindenii, which now bears the name of the German Cup bridesmaid, you will usually still under the scientific name Cercion lindenii. However, due to the larval morphology, and recent molecular biological characteristics it is secured in the genre of garnet eyes ( Erythromma ) to classify.
