CÅ“ur de pirate

Cœur de Pirate, to German pirate heart, is the stage name of Canadian singer-songwriter Béatrice Martin ( born September 22, 1989 in Montreal).

Biography

Béatrice Martin began to learn piano the age of three. She attended five years a Conservatory and graduated in art, literature and communication. In 2007 she was briefly a keyboardist and female voice member of the band Bonjour Brumaire. After she had in 2008 set a few custom tracks on MySpace and was very well received, she decided, but goes in a solo career.

Although she had been only a very few concerts, they had become so well known by their MySpace page that already in the autumn of 2008 they released their debut album. It went immediately into the Canadian album charts and was nominated for the Juno Awards as the best French-language album.

The following year, Coeur de Pirate was also published in French-speaking Europe, and was also placed in France even in the top 10 of the albums. In the U.S., their debut reached # 6 of the World album charts. Béatrice Martin tried only with English lyrics, but later sang only in French. In her concerts she plays only the piano, but it dominates other instruments such as the guitar.
