Coffee production in Ethiopia#Sidamo

Sidamo is the name for an Arabica coffee that grows in the region of Sidamo in the highlands of Ethiopia.

Unlike in many other African countries where mainly Robusta varieties are grown, high-quality Arabica coffee is harvested in the country of origin Ethiopia exclusively. Sidamo is one of the Arabica beans, which are also sorted in the trade, so is not only available as part of various mixtures.

The aroma of Sidamo is, as with all coffees, strongly dependent on the type of roasting. He is often described as nutty or buttery and contains a mild acid. Sidamo is classified as a high-quality variety that is well suited for espresso and has a mean caffeine content.
