Coggia

Coggia is a commune in Corsica, which belongs to the department of Corse- du- Sud, with 821 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ). Coggia belongs to the district of Ajaccio and is part of the Canton of Les Deux- Sorru.

Geography

Coggia is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Vico in the west and north, Arbori in the northeast and east, Ambiegna the east and Casaglione the south and southeast. Here ends the Liamone in the Gulf of Sagone, located at the coast Coggia. The main village ( cruciate ) is located in the mountains; other villages in the municipality are Sant Erasmu, Cerasa, Coggia Maio, Casanova, Vedolaccia, the summer cottages on the Gulf of Sagone.

The municipality is part of the wine-growing region Ajaccio.
