Cokato is a city in Wright County, Minnesota, United States. In 2000 Cokato had 2727 inhabitants.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.3 km ², consisting entirely of the country.
U.S. Highway 12 leads as the main road through the town. On the main highway to the west about 10 km away Dassel, in an easterly direction, the road leads to the Howard Lake.

At the time of the census of 2000, there were 2727 people Cokato. The population density was 822.6 people per km ². There were 1035 housing units at an average 312.2 per km ². The population consisted of Hoquiams 96.81 % White, 0.15 % African American, 0.26 % Native American, 0.44 % Asian, 0.04 % Pacific Islander, 1.25 % reported other races to belong and 1.06 % from two or more races. 2.68 % of the population to be Hispanic or Latino of any race. 29.5 % of the population were of German, 24.2% Finnish, 15.3% Swedish and 9.8% Norwegian ancestry.
