Col Agnel
It connects the French Queyras (department Alpes- de -Haute- Provence) with the Italian Varaitatal ( province of Cuneo / Piedmont ).
Despite his height, which makes it the third highest pass in the Alps after Col de l' Iseran and Stelvio, the highest border pass of the Alps is relatively unknown.
2008 Tour de France crossed the pass on the way to Prato Nevoso. 2011, the Col Agnel was climbed on the 18th stage of the south. The Col Agnel was classified in the highest category ( HC).
Description
The Col Agnel / Agnello is one of the highest Alpine passes (SG 2-3) and linking France with Italy. From the southern Italian side of the road SP 251 Pontechianale Coming leads to the pass, from the northern French side of the road D 205, the last village on the French side is Fontgillarde.
