The Col de la Givrine (also called Col de Saint- CERGUE ) is a pass in the Swiss canton of Vaud between Saint- Cergue and the hamlet of La Cure on the French border. The pass is located on the trunk road from Nyon to Morez. The pass is at 1,228 m.

About the Pass since 1916 leads the narrow gauge railway line of the Chemin de fer Nyon -Saint- Cergue- Morez, with stop La Givrine 1.6 km east of the apex.

History

The road over the pass linking eastern France in the Middle Ages with the basin of Lake Geneva. The pass lost its national importance at the beginning of the 19th century by the construction of the road over the Col de la Faucille. In the years from 1763 the road was realigned, this route remained until the new building from 1828 to 1852 in use, the old paving stones are partly still visible today.

In July 2012, here is a competition of the World Orienteering Championships 2012 was held.
