The Col de Pierre Pertuis is a pass in the Swiss canton of Bern. It is located between the towns of Sonceboz and Tavannes, the pass is 827 m. The name comes from the Pierre Pertuis back, an expanded natural rock tunnel (Latin: Petra pertusa ), through the Roman period in the path link between Aventicum and Augusta Raurica led. It is located about 300 meters north of the pass. In an inscription from the 3rd century to the tunnel entrance on the north side of the rock boasts a certain Marcus Dunius Paternus to have expanded the natural opening (CIL 13, 5166 ):

The passage was used until the early 20th century. This section of the Roman road to the tunnel was added to the federal list of protected cultural assets and is therefore a national monument.

During the mobilization 1914-1918 built Engineer Corps of the Swiss Army over the historic tunnel a road which was more suitable for motor vehicles. 1932 new, about 2 km long road was opened, which was completely built by the unemployed. In November 1997 two 2100 m long highway tunnel on the A16 were finally put into operation.
