Col Needham
Colin " Col " Needham ( born January 26, 1967 in Manchester ) is a British entrepreneur. He is one of the four founding members and managing director of the world-famous Internet Movie Database Internet Movie Database (short form: IMDb ).
Life and work
In 1990, Col Needham called the IMDb into life. At the time he was working full nor as an engineer for Hewlett -Packard in Bristol. In the summer of 1996, when the very first advertising campaign IMDb for a movie - Independence Day Roland Emmerich - started, Col Needham quit his job at Hewlett Packard and henceforth worked as paid and permanent full -time employee for IMDb, rising in the same year due to the number of users and data was converted into a company. Since 1998, when the company bought the IMDb Amazon.com, Col Needham is CEO of the company.
