Colbie Caillat

Colbie Caillat Marie (born 28 May 1985 in Newbury Park, California) is an American singer- songwriter and Grammy winner.

Career

Caillat became famous through their MySpace page. Their song Bubbly was played on their side more than ten million copies.

On MySpace they had in October 2006, over 6,000 fans and the American music magazine Rolling Stone magazine named one of the top female artists on MySpace. Finally, Caillat became the most successful artist without a record deal at all, as the number of their MySpace fans grew to over 100,000. Meanwhile, their side more than 60 million times since (as of April 2012) and their songs have been heard more than 113 million times.

The collaboration with Mikal Blue and singer -songwriter Jason Reeves led to some songs from her debut album Coco, published in 2007. It came in the top ten of the Billboard charts and was successful worldwide. The song Bubbly was also in many countries, a top ten hit, and was almost an entire year on the charts, among others in Switzerland and the USA.

Caillat's second album Breakthrough was published in 2009 and rose to number one in the U.S. a. It could build on the success of their first album and had to Fallin ' for You another hit single. Wrote with Jason Mraz and Caillat sang the same year the song Lucky, who also became an international success. This duet was honored in 2010 with a Grammy; Caillat also was nominated for album Breakthrough and Breathe, a duet with Taylor Swift. Caillat had previously been also co-producer of Swift's album Fearless. July 8th, 2011 appeared Caillat's third studio album All of You, the first single I Do was published on February 7, 2011.

In German-speaking countries it gained a greater awareness in particular through its collaboration with the musical project Schiller.

It participated in the album to the movie City of Bones - Mortal Instruments, where she the song 'When the Darkness Comes'sang.
