Colby Cohen

Colby Cohen ( born April 25, 1989 in Villanova, Pennsylvania) is an American professional ice hockey player who is since June 2013 at the Ässät Pori in the SM- liiga under contract.

Career

Cohen was selected at the NHL Entry Draft in 2007 in the second round by a total of 45 out of the Colorado Avalanche. After the draft, he played three years for the Boston University. In 2009 he was elected by his team champion of the University and College Sports League Hockey East and the most outstanding player of the tournament.

After the defender with his team from the Hockey East semi-final in 2010 eliminated against the University of Maine, he signed 3 April 2010 his first professional contract with the Colorado Avalanche. The short remainder of the hockey season he spent at the farm team of the avalanche, the Lake Erie Monsters, where he was able to achieve an assist in three games.

Colby Cohen came into the NHL season 2010/11 to three inserts for the Avalanche and completed 14 more inserts for the Monsters in the American Hockey League before he transferred to the Boston Bruins on 29 November 2010 in exchange for the defender Matt Hunwick been. Cohen did not come for the Bruins used, but played until the end of the season 2012/13 at Boston's farm team, the Providence Bruins in the AHL.

Internationally

In 2006, he won the silver medal at the World U -17 Hockey Challenge.
