Coleford, Monmouth, Usk and Pontypool Railway

The Coleford, Monmouth, Usk and Pontypool Railway was a British railway company in Gloucestershire in England and Wales.

The Company was incorporated on August 20, 1853 at the Forest of Dean to connect to the coal region in South Wales. The driving force behind this was the Member of Parliament Crawshaw Bailey. With the incorporation of the Company and the Monmouth Railway ( Monmouth Coleford ) was taken. On 2 June 1856 section of Pontypool Usk and after October 12, 1857, opened the rest of the way to Monmouth. The operation was for the Newport, Abergavenny and Hereford Railway, in Pontypool, the CMU & R joined to the. On 1 July 1861, the bridge was opened over the Wye, while the route for 1000 years at the West Midlands Railway was leased. The planned extension of the route until after Cole Ford was not implemented. On August 22, 1881, the Company was acquired by the Great Western Railway.

The passenger was set on June 13, 1955, and freight traffic on 13 September 1965.
