Colerain Township is one of 16 townships of Belmont County in the U.S. state of Ohio. According to the census in 2000 1591 inhabitants were registered here.

Geography

Colerain Township is located in the northeast of Belmont County in eastern Ohio, is in the East about 8 km from the Ohio River and borders clockwise to the Townships: Mount Pleasant Township in Jefferson County, Pease Township, Richland Township, Wheeling Township and Short Creek Township in Harrison County.

Management

The township is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three elected members. Two persons are elected in the year after the presidential election and one each in the previous year. The term of office lasts four years, beginning on 1 January. There is also a Township Clerk (Secretary), who is also elected in the year before the presidential election to a four -year term. Whose term of office begins on April 1.
