Colin Camerer

Colin F. Camerer ( born December 4, 1959) is an American economist. He is Professor of Economics at the California Institute of Technology.

Life

Camerer studied Quantitative Social Research at the Johns Hopkins University (BA, 1977). In 1979 he received an MBA in Finance and a Ph.D. in 1981 in decision theory from the University of Chicago. From 1981 to 1983, Camerer was an assistant professor at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and from 1983 to 1989 at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. At the University of Pennsylvania 1989-1991 he was professor of decision science, then a professor at the University of Chicago. Since 1994 he has been at Caltech. 1991/92 he was a visiting scientist at the Russell Sage Foundation, 1997/98 at Stanford University. From 2001 to 2003 he was president of the Economic Science Association. In 2013 he received a MacArthur Fellowship.

Camerers research interests are behavioral and experimental economics.
