Colin Rowe

Colin Rowe ( * 1920 in Yorkshire, † 5 November 1999, in Arlington County) was a British architect, author and high school teacher. His work is considered to be not insignificant influence on urban development, particularly in the fields of urban planning and urban design.

Life

Colin Rowe was indeed born in the United Kingdom, spent most of his life but in the United States of America. He studied at the Liverpool School architecture, at London's Warburg Institute art history. He then taught at various schools, as in Austin and Cornell University.

In 1995 he was awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal Institute of British Architects ( RIBA ).
