Colin White (ice hockey)

John Colin White ( born December 12, 1977 in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played with the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League on the position of the defender.

Career

Colin White began his career as a hockey player in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he was active for Laval Titan and the Hull Olympiques 1994-1997. During this time, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1996 in the second round than a total of 49 players from the New Jersey Devils. First, the defender played from 1997 to 1999 for two years solely for the farm team of the Devils, the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League. Already in his rookie season won White with the New Jersey Devils 2000 Stanley Cup. This victory, he was able to repeat with the team in 2003.

The Devils put him early August 2011, together with Trent Hunter on the Waiverliste and paid out of his contract. This White was available as Unrestricted Free Agent. On August 3, 2011, he signed a contract for a year's worth of one million dollars at the San Jose Sharks.
