Collapse into Now is the fifteenth and at the same time last studio album by the American rock band REM It was released on March 7, 2011 in Europe and is the sequel to 2008's Accelerate.

The songs were written by Michael Stipe, Peter Buck and Mike Mills. In Oh My Heart had Scott McCaughey, with in Blue Patti Smith.

Music style

According to bassist Mike Mills the musical style of the album is more diversified compared to its predecessor Accelerate. Are on this album " a few slow ballads, a few songs medium speed and three or four rock songs contain. " ( "There are some really slow, beautiful songs; there are some nice, mid-tempo ones; and then there are three or four rockers. " )

Production

The album was recorded in Berlin, Nashville, New Orleans and Portland ( Oregon). As a guest star Patti Smith, Lenny Kaye, Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam ), Peaches and Joel Gibb worked with. To promote the album, twelve music videos have been published in which appeared as guests Jim Herbert and James Franco.
