Collège de Beauvais

The Collège de Beauvais (also known as the Collège de Dormans - Beauvais ) was in the 5th arrondissement in today's Rue Jean de Beauvais. End of the 17th and beginning of the 18th century it was a center of Jansenism. It was attended by many sons of judges and prosecutors at the Parlement of Paris and the other high courts.

The College was founded by Jean de Dormans, Bishop of Beauvais and chancellor of France in 1370. The chapel still standing, John the Baptist, Anne was consecrated, 1375 by Raymond du Temple, the builder of the Louvre and the Château de Vincennes built. From him came also the school building of 1381, which no longer exists.
