College Park is a city located partly in Fulton County and partially in Clayton County, Georgia in the USA.
Geography
The city is located on Interstate 85- Highway and at the Old National Highway and has an area of approximately 25.1 km ². The nearest major town is Atlanta at a distance of about eight kilometers. The Hartsfield Atlanta airport belongs partly to the city of College Park.
History
1890, the place under the name " Manchester " was founded. Once there 1895 as " Southern Female College " named College founded, the city was a year later renamed " College Station ". The later known under the name of " Cox Academy " college was until 1966 also affiliated with a military academy. The college was then renamed Woodward Academy and is now one of the largest private schools with co-education in the United States.

Demography
The 2000 census (United States Census 2000) showed a total population of 20,382 people, divided into 7,810 households. The proportion of African Americans was almost 82%. About 30 % of the population had not yet reached at this time 18 years of age.
