Collegium Musicum (Band)

Collegium Musicum is a Slovak music group that is dedicated primarily instrumental compositions.

History

Collegium Musicum was founded in 1970 and initially existed until 1979. Later, the group met in different occupations on again, but always with Marián Varga. She became known for adaptations of classic works, as a tribute to JS Bach from the microcosm of Béla Bartók, or Concerto in D by Haydn. But his own compositions were on the repertoire.

Founded in 1970 as a trio, the cast over the years changed again and again. When the Amiga was released in 1973 on Hi # 11 Hommage à Johann Sebastian Bach ( 8:00 min ) consisting of Marián Varga, Fedor Frešo and Dušan Hájek. During the recordings to disk Continuo (1977 ), the Collegium Musicum of Marián Varga, Fedor Frešo, Dušan Hájek, Ľudovít Nosko and Karel joke was.

A special feature of the group was that Marián Varga a subharchord used in some recordings, a very rare electronic musical instrument that was developed in the 1960s in the GDR.
