Colleyville is a city in Tarrant County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The town is a suburb of Fort Worth and is located in the northeast of the county, is located in the north about 80 miles from Oklahoma and has a total area of 33.9 km ², of which 0.08 km ² water surface.

History

Settlement of the area began around 1850. Was named the city after Hilburn Howard Colley, a doctor from Missouri, who moved to Texas in 1880, settled here and practiced 40 years. 1936 25 inhabitants were first reported in 1958, the population had risen to 100. The proximity to Fort Worth and improved transport links, the town was a popular destination and in 1964 lived here already 1491 people.
