Collidine

The collidines (sometimes collidines ) or trimethylpyridines form in chemistry, a substance group of organic compounds (more precisely, heteroaromatic) to the heterocycles counts. They consist of a pyridine ring which is substituted by three methyl groups. Due to their different arrangement of six constitutional isomers arise with the empirical formula C8H11N. The 2,4,6 -collidine is the most prominent isomer.

Properties

The collidines are colorless liquids with pyridinartigem odor. They are soluble in water and ethanol.
