Collier Trophy

The Collier Trophy ( to 1922 Aero Club of America Trophy ) is a prize awarded annually in the United States to the person who has achieved the most progress in the field of aerospace in the United States during the preceding year. (English: " the greatest achievement in aeronautics or astronautics in America, with respect to Improving the performance, efficiency, and safety of air or space vehicles, the value nominal real HAS BEEN thoroughly demostrated by actual use falling on the Preceding year. " )

The award was founded in 1910 by Robert J. Collier, publisher of Colliers Weekly and president of the Aero Club of America and first awarded in 1911. The trophy weighs 240 kg and is on display at the National Air and Space Museum.
