Colorado Eagles

The Colorado Eagles are an American ice hockey team from Loveland, Colorado. The team plays since the 2011/12 season in the ECHL, before it took from 2003 to 2011 on the gaming operations of the Central Hockey League.

History

The Colorado Eagles were founded in 2003 as a franchise of the Central Hockey League. In the eight affiliation of the team for the CHL Eagles occupied each season at least second place in their respective division. Their greatest success was winning the Ray Miron President's Cup in seasons 2004/ 05 and 2006/07. With two title wins, the team proposed in each case the Laredo Bucks. In the years 2008, 2009 and 2011, the Eagles were subject in the finals of the Arizona Sundogs, Texas Brahmas and Bossier - Shreveport Mudbugs. On 14 January 2009, the Colorado Eagles host the CHL All- Star Games, in which the Eagles won against a team of the best CHL player with 8:4.

End of May 2011, the recording of the franchise was announced as an expansion team in the ECHL for the 2011/12 season. For the 2011/12 season, a cooperation agreement with the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League has been completed.
