Colson Whitehead

Colson Whitehead (born 1969 in New York City ) is an American novelist. In 2002 he received a MacArthur Fellowship.

Whitehead grew up in Manhattan, where he attended the prestigious Trinity School. He then studied at Harvard. After graduating in 1991 Whitehead wrote two years for The Village Voice. During this time he began to design his first novels.
