Columbus Golden Seals

The Columbus Golden Seals were an American ice hockey franchise in the International Hockey League from Columbus, Ohio.

History

The California Golden Seals bought before the 1971/72 season, the inactive franchise of the Columbus Checkers of the International Hockey League as their new farm team and renamed it in Columbus Golden Seals. In the two seasons of existence, from 1971 to 1973, the Golden Seals fourth positions respectively, and thus the Last South Division were, so that they each missed the playoffs for the Turner Cup. Due to the sporting success Miss those responsible sold the franchise, which took part in the following years under the name Columbus Owls in the game operation of the IHL.
