Comanche County (Kansas)

Comanche County is a county located in the state of Kansas in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Coldwater. The county is one of the Dry counties, which means that the sale of alcohol is restricted or prohibited.

Geography

The County is located in southern Kansas, Oklahoma and is adjacent to an area of ​​2045 square kilometers, of which four square kilometers of water surface. It borders in Kansas clockwise to the following counties: Kiowa County, Barber County and Clark County.

History

Comanche County was formed on February 26, 1867 from parts of Kiowa County. It was named after the Native American people of the Comanches.
