Combined gas and gas

A COGAG drive ( for Combined Gas and Gas ) is a ship propulsion concept, appearing for the two different gas turbines on the drive shaft (s). The advantage of this type of drive is similar to the related CODAG drive, low fuel consumption, the disadvantage of the complicated gearset.

COGAG drives are used in particular in the warship. The first warships who received this system were in the 1970s, the Amazon class of the Royal Navy. The system proved to be maintenance-intensive, and the complicated system proved to be extremely unstable in rough seas.
