Action

The French nun Sister Margaret and Sister Scholastica travel to New England to perform there in the small town of Bethlehem a vow: the construction of a hospital. Once in the city, the nuns take on Amelia Potts, a painter who specializes in religious themes. They tell Amelia that they came to build a hospital. Amelia asks why and sister Margaret tells of the vows stored in the war, that they would build a hospital in America, God should keep the children in her care in a hospital before a bombardment.
