Command (military formation)

Command is the name of higher military leadership services (from brigade level), perform the subordinate troops. The commands of the major units ( brigade command, division, command, etc.) are linguistically often equated with the corresponding association. The name must be used primarily for command authorities, whose subordinate units will not be used closed as opposed to associations.

When the Bundeswehr are for example:

  • Special Forces Command
  • Command task forces Luftwaffe
  • Army Training Command
  • Naval Air Command
  • Strategic Reconnaissance Command

At the top level higher command echelons of the armed forces and the armed forces are the following commands:

  • Army command
  • Air Force command
  • Navy command
  • Operational Command of the German Armed Forces
  • Command Streitkräftebasis
  • Command Medical Service of the Bundeswehr
