Commercial pilot license

As a CPL ( Commercial Pilot Licence) the commercial pilot license is called.

A distinction is made between CPL ( A) for aircraft (A = Aeroplane ) and CPL ( H) for helicopters (H = Helicopter).

The following statements relate mainly to the commercial pilot license for airplanes, CPL (A).

It allows the pilots, professional and commercial basis (ie, as a pilot for a fee ) to operate flights. This permission can be acquired after 150 flight hours with continuous or 200 flight hours of modular training, usefully should by at least 100 hours earlier nor the two motor permission to buy.

The commercial pilot license as well as a commercial pilot's license Airline Transport Pilot License ( ATPL ) is issued in Germany by the Federal Aviation Office in Braunschweig according to the rules of the Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA ) (JAR -FCL, Joint Aviation Regulations - Flight Crew Licensing ) license. The exact name of this license is: " Commercial Pilot Licence (airplane) "

The CPL entitled to fly aircraft of all registered patterns as pilot in command ( pilot in command ) if the aircraft may be operated by a single pilot. However, this right is in relation to weather conditions (JAR - OPS 1.430 ff ) and flight experience (JAR - OPS 1.960 ) is very limited.

For aircraft in which at least two pilots are required (MPA, Multi Pilot Aeroplane ), is prescribed as a pilot license for the Pilot in Command (PIC) an ATPL. The first officer requires a CPL and an instrument rating IR ( Instrument Rating ) and the ATPL theory examination must have been passed.

The CPL can order several ratings, for example, be extended for piston engines by instrument rating, or a multi-engine rating ( MEP multiengine piston ). In some ATPL ratings are already integrated.

In commercial operations under instrument flight rules, it is mandatory in Germany, when the airplane is flown by two pilots ( § 41 para 5 in conjunction with § 32 para 2 LuftBO ).
