Commission for Independent Research and Information on Radioactivity

The Commission de recherche et d'information sur la indépendantes radioactivité Association Française ( CRIIRAD ) - German to: French Commission for Independent Research and Information on Radioactivity - is a French radiation research institute based in Valence in the south of France.

History

The Commission was established by Michèle Rivasi in the wake of the Chernobyl disaster in May 1986. Made famous by the Commission, inter alia, through its activities since 2003 in connection with the controversial ( medical ) approach of the group AREVA when uranium mining in Niger Rivasi was replaced as chairman in 1997 by Roland Desbordes.
