Commission (Latin commissio 'competition' ) stands for:
- A group of people with specific skills or powers of an order is received, for example, Expert Commission, Commission of Inquiry Commission of Experts; largely synonymous, the term committee
- A preliminary consultation committee in the parliamentary legislative process or a committee of parliamentary oversight over the executive in Switzerland ( at the federal, cantonal and municipal level ), see commissions in the Federal Assembly
- In the European Union as a shorthand for the European Commission
- In logistics for a certain part of a range of goods; see also picking
- As shorthand for the consignment sale, a special form of sales in the distribution policy of a company
- With banks and auction houses for a (usually calculated as a percentage ) fee
