The Bulbul ( Pycnonotus barbatus) is a common African passerine bird of the family of Bulbul ( Pycnonotidae )
Features
The Bulbul is a thrush -like bird with a long tail (body length: 19-21 cm). Wings, head and tail are gray to dark gray in color, while the bottom (except for the whitish Steißregion ) has a brown -gray color. At the head sometimes grows a small tuft. Its call is a loud "doctor doctor -quick -quick -quick be be -quick ".
Reproduction
The bird builds its nest in trees. It breeds usually two eggs two weeks off. The nestling period lasts another two weeks.
Food
It feeds on fruits and insects.
