Common Information Model (computing)

The Common Information Model (CIM) is one of the Distributed Management Task Force ( DMTF ) standard approved and developed for the management of IT systems. Through him, it is mainly distributed applications be possible to provide a single vendor - and platform-independent management interface available. He treats the network, system and application management. CIM provides a data model in the Managed Object Format (MOF ) are available to describe the management information and features in a software system. It is not bound to any implementation. The first version of the CIM schema appeared on 9 April 1997. The current " stable " version of the CIM schema v2.23.0 was released on 22 October 2009.
