The Commonwealth Bank of Australia ( Commonwealth Bank) is an Australian financial services company based in Sydney.

History and Activities

The company is one of the four largest banks in Australia ( "Big Four banks" ). Commonwealth Bank was founded in 1911 by the Australian government (King O'Malley ). In 1991, the bank went public and was privatized in 1996. The company provides financial services of various kinds for its customers.
