Communist Party of Kampuchea

Angka (also Angkar ) as a short form of Angka padevat ( German: Revolutionary Organization) was at the time of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia, a catchall term, after which the Cambodian Communist Party and thus the Khmer Rouge and its leader Pol Pot hid.

Angka ( " the Organization") was used as a figurehead for the initially operating in complete secrecy Cambodian Communist Party. This pretense of an anonymous organization was part of the overall secrecy, which the communists served in Cambodia. Only in a speech on 27 September 1977, two and a half years after the seizure of power, Pol Pot admitted that behind Angka hid the Communist Party.

Under the reign of the Khmer Rouge took Angka the importance of omnipresent mysterious power, which always forces to the utmost care and attention - otherwise you became the enemy of Angka.
