Community for Democracy and Rights of Nations

The Community non- recognized states (Russian: Содружество непризнанных государств ) is an informal association of the formed after the breakup of the Soviet Union, but mainly internationally unrecognized de facto regime in Abkhazia, Nagorno-Karabakh, South Ossetia and Transnistria.

The republics of the four participating officially as a community for democracy and the rights of peoples (Russian: Сообщество « За демократию и права народов ") designated union was launched in the Karabakh capital Stepanakert 2001. Nagorno-Karabakh itself occurred in 2004, first from the Community, but to again participate in its work by 2007.

Since August 2008, at least two of the four states ( Abkhazia and South Ossetia) by Russia, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Nauru were officially recognized Abkhazia since 2011, yet by Vanuatu and Tuvalu. Although Nagorno Karabakh welcomed the recognition of South Ossetia and Abkhazia by Russia, but Russia made ​​clear that the case of Nagorno-Karabakh lies differently and a recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh and therefore first out of the question. Also belonging to Moldova Autonomous Republic of Gagauzia has recognized South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

Because of its informal name, the community as the official Commonwealth of Independent States in Russian with СНГ (SNG ) is abbreviated to distinguish, however, СНГ -II ( SNG -2).
