Compendium of Chemical Terminology

The Compendium of Chemical Terminology, also known as the Gold Book (ISBN 0865426848 ) is a publication of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry, which contains general and internationally recognized definitions for terms used in chemistry.

We started work on the book, first published in 1987 by Victor Gold ( hence the name). The second, edited by Alan D. McNaught and Andrew Wilkinson edition was published in 1997. A slightly expanded version is available for free on the Internet.
